Seicento Stravagante
Seicento Stravagante was created in 2018 by David Brutti on cornett and Nicola Lamon on organ and harpsichord.
The ensemble performs the best music from Italian courts and cathedrals between 500’ and 600’ and aims to rediscover the ancient sound of the cornett and authentic organs, the refined art of diminution and the extravagance of the Renaissance and early Baroque repertoire.
La Pifarescha
The Pifarescha began as an alta cappella ensemble of wind and percussion instruments popular in medieval and Renaissance Europe under the name Piffari. In its Renaissance repertoire, it combines the powerful sounds of the alta cappella with the softer sounds of the bassa cappella, using a wide and fascinating instrumentarium: bombards, trombones, cornets, flutes, lutes, viella, viola da gamba, percussion, and many others. At the same time, it delves into popular and ethnic musical traditions, custodians of knowledge that provide valuable insights into the interpretation of early music. It also enriches its identity by including the repertoire of the Baroque period, thanks to a flexible ensemble with specialized musicians.
It is featured in major International Festivals and has recorded for various labels including Dynamic, Concerto Classics, Arts, Outhere, Pan Classic, and Glossa. In 2020, in collaboration with the Cappella Marciana conducted by Marco Gemmani, it won first prize in the Early Music category of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA).
